A Fun Day with minority students in Yuen Long
A Fun Day interaction programme was organized with Hong Kong's non-Chinese students in Yuen Long on Sunday, 31st March 2013. Seventeen HKU students and about 45 ethnic minority students studying in various local secondary and primary schools participated in the event. HKU Residential College students shared their secondary school experiences and gave some encouragements to the students. They also designed several games on English, Mathematics and Chinese language and played with the students. An open-chitchat was held at the end of the activity in which ethnic minority students enquired about learning approaches and information on overseas education. Some of the students have been friends in Facebook networks and have started to build a long term communication with HKU students. Parents of the children joined the activities as well.
